The mission of the Economic Development Council of Greater Lafayette Commerce is to promote economic development and continued growth and well-being of the  Greater Lafayette community.
The Economic Development Council will strive to retain and expand existing business and industry, to attract and encourage new business and industry, to capitalize on technology and innovation, to work closely with Purdue University and to promote entrepreneurship.
Growth Strategies
  1. To create an environment that is conducive to growing technology and advanced manufacturing businesses in the GreaterLafayette region.
  2. To attract new business and industry to the Greater Lafayette area.
  3. To support the expansion and retention of major employers in the
    Greater Lafayette area.
  4. To develop small businesses in the Greater Lafayette area and aid in the expansion and retention of existing small to medium size businesses.
  5. To encourage the public and private sectors of the community to invest in the economic development and to develop partnerships with government, business, education, and Purdue University to continue to enhance economic development initiatives in the Greater Lafayette area.
  6. To support the changing cultural diversity and quality of life needs of the community which will enhance the economic development of Greater Lafayette.
  7. Professionally manage the organization so it is financially stable and meets the expectations of the members and treats its employees in a professional manner.
