2010 Census - It's in our hands

As a business leader in our community and member of Greater Lafayette Commerce we are asking for your help.

How you and your business can help with the 2010 Census efforts for a complete count!

IT’S  EASY!  IT’S SAFE!  IT’S IMPORTANT

How Business Leaders and Employers can get the word out:

> Posters in break-rooms or other areas of employee or public gathering

> Notices or logos on or in checks, bills, emails, flyers, & etc.

> Presentations in staff, union, and employee meetings

> Give-aways with Census 2010 items (see below)

> Audio/Video announcements

> Be creative! Create other ways to reach out to your employees and the community.

Why is it Important?

> Our goal is to increase our local count from 72% is at least an 85%.

> We need to reach everyone but it is also important to reach students and other hard to count populations who live most of the year in Tippecanoe County and convince them of the importance of filling out the census form here.

> If you are here fill out a form!

> For every person who is not accounted for means a potential loss of $4,000 in federal funding per person each year for 10 years – that’s $40,000 lost per person. This could total in the millions of dollars of resources that could help support vital public and private community services.

> The 2010 Census is the shortest form in history – 10 questions taking 10 minutes to complete!

> The 2010 census will be used for the next 10 years as the basis for research and development of community needs.

Here is a flyer and a fact sheet for your use. Please feel free to use them as you wish.
